Wedding bells!

I was so excited when I was asked to do some wedding invites and decor for an upcoming wedding. Theme: Roarimg 20's!!! How fun!
I got to work and made a few samples for the bride to be to pick from or give me a starting off point anyhow!
These were some of the samples that I made...
And finally the one she choose....
You have to pull the heart tab in order to see the invitation! I think they are adorable and a good choice!
Now, she also wanted something to put on the back of their truck for after their ceremony. Voila, their own buggy!!
I even added their names to the back window of the buggy but never got to snap a picture of that! Oops!
And finally, after all the partying and it's time to to back to their room...they don't want to be disturbed!
So, everything got delivered this morning and everyone is happy and I can't wait to see the actual pictures from the fairy tale wedding in September!
Congrats guys...you know who you are!!

Happy crafting everyone!!

Sharpie Art

Well! This is pretty neat!
Sharpie Stained Markers are made for fabric! Brush tip and vibrant colors finally made for fabric! Now I can doodle on just about anything...I've yet to convince Nate it would be nice to doodle in the walls! ....but for now fabric will certainly do!
Check out my first project where I bought a pair of canvas sneakers and that became my culprit!
The first photo is my initial doodles and then the following photos are different angles of it colored in.
Pretty neat eh!

Happy Crafting!

Birthday Gift for someone special...

Sometimes I have the hardest time creating something "special and unique" for that person who is truly super talented. Seriously, what do you "make" someone who can make absolutely anything she wanted all on her own? I let days and days go by before the pressure was too much and I just had to put on my craft apron and hope for the best!!

This is the card I made for her. The artist pallet is made from Grunge Paper that has been gesso'ed and dabs of paint were added to it. I even added Glossy Accents to the tops of the colours to make them look "still wet"! I snapped an old paintbrush at the top (to fit it on the page originally) and then ended up widdling away the top part of the paintbrush to create the little tiny pencil crayon inside the heart. The heart is made from Polymer Clay and the rest is just doodles!
This is an 8" x 8" ceramic tile from the hardware store. I Alcohol Inked the entire background, added one of my favourite pieces of patterned paper to the center (all sorts of sentences on how to simply enjoy the little things in life)
The flowers and leaves are all a mixture of Vellum with Alcohol Ink on them as well as Crinkle Ribbon, gems, pins, Shimmer Sprays and some fun little word elements.

All in all I think my little gift for my awesome friend was a success and I think she loves it as much as I do!

Happy Crafting everyone!!

Antigonish Farmers Market has begun!

It's Antigonish Farmers Market time and that is where you'll find me every Saturday from now until December! Myself and my friend Karen from The Garden Studio in Wilkies Court, Antigonish! Every week will bring new and creative items to our table so if you see it one week and go home to think about it and you don't see it the next week it's because somebody else bought it! However, we're pretty accommodating chicks and if we can do it again for you, we will. Only because we're nice like that! 😘. So, if you're looking for unique greeting cards, beach items, 'Nish Prim handmade dolls, gorgeous jewellery and Acrylic paintings and canvas work and so much more then come and check out our booth at the Market!
A view of our booth
This Grad card was a hard one to keep in stock!!

Upcoming Art Journaling Class at The Cutting Garden

As most of you know I LOVE Art Journaling! The colours, the mediums, the drawing and doodling and the freedom to express myself any which way I want to! There is no right and wrong and I promise the freedom to allow yourself to just express yourself is so liberating! I can't wait to share my colourful world of AJ'ing to some customers at The Cutting Garden in Halifax, Nova Scotia! For details check out the schedule at The Cutting Garden or just click HERE and I hope to see you this Sunday in The Garden! I promise you will walk out so inspired!
All you need to take is a Non Stick Craft Mat and a Heat Gun if you have one and the most important item to take is AN OPEN MIND!

Hope to see you at The Garden on Sunday, May 4th at 12:30pm!

Art Journaling

A few more pages popped up that I've been working on the last few days. Both were drawn in marker and then painted in a washed down acrylic paint and once dried I went over it with the marker again. No rhyme or reason to the marker lines....just do whatever your brain tells you to do! Go with it and you just might like the results at the end!
That's all for today!

Happy journaling!

Folded Art Journal Page

On this set of pages I created an envelope on one side of the page and another perspective from the bottom of the heart when the page is flipped over.
The heart is covered in Gesso and water colored and the stripes are colored with H2o Twinkles.

Watercolor crayons colouring this scroll!

Close up of the heart.

Have you Art Journaled today?

Art Journal Pages

Here are a few of the latest pages I have created. The St. Patricks Day page is with Inktense Pencils and the Spring page is with Watercolor Crayons and a Water pen. On the final page I only added the quote as the page was done a few weeks ago.
Must go prep some more pages with Gesso to get ready for some more fun Art Journaling!
Have a fun crafty day!

Zentangle Attempt!

I have always loved the idea of Zentangles but never knew where to start. A good place to get ideas is Pinterest and even googling the word leaves you a world of images to grab inspiration from!
Have you tried Zentangling today? It's very therapeutic creating patterns!

Buoy Inspiration

I drew and coloured this page a few days ago using Inktense Pencil Crayons and a water brush but it sat blank of writing until I found this great Thomas Jefferson quote that I knew was perfect for this page. It goes to show you that you don't always have to finish a page once you begin it. Sometimes my pages stay blank for days, months and some still are blank! But, that's ok! They'll get done when they get done.

Art Journal Pages

A collage of some recent Art Journal pages. I wish I had the nerve to do a video on some of them. Maybe someday....
